Dear All,

I have as little as 3 months experience in trade finance..i have recently entered the world of trade finance and am enjoying it very much...i am working for a bank in london and am negotiating documents

.

Could anyone please guide me if

1)I should be aiming for CDCS APRIL 2013 or will it be over-ambitious considering that i have very little experience.

2) Is CDCS the best industry sought qualification for trade finance?

With one year experiene i got CDCS distinction. I think u can apply for 2013 exams if you have the will.

Please, may anyone in the house shed more light on other certifications in trade finance. I mean 'what are the other certifications in trade finance'?

You should have alteast 2 years in trade finance to help you

score better in CDCS exam. No problem can take

CDCS exam as you wish.

CDCS Expectations

Hello Shweta,

Candidates for the exam normally have around 3 years experience.  This provides enough base knowledge for the exam and the understanding of the more complicated issues.  There is no hard rule regarding the 3 years, but it normally is sufficient.  A text is provided to enable you to study for the exam, so if you choose to take it sooner, it is possible to pass.

As to the certification of trade finance, there are additional certifications for different topics.  If you wish to have a certification for documentary credits, this is, I think, the only certification available.
