Place of Final Destination in B/L

Suppose,

L/C issued incorporating the following SWIFT Field and details under MT 700:

44A (Place of Taking in Charge/ of Receipt)----ABC Port of County A

44F:( Port of Discharge/ Airport of Destination)----XYZ Port Country B

44B:Place of Final Destination / of Deliver)-----  KKK City of Country C via CCC Customs point

Here Price Term is CIF or CFR XYZ Port

BUT some beneficiaries ask for amendment for deleting Field 44B showing the reason shipping liner could not deliver the goods upto KKK City of Country C.

Is it okay for asking amendment ..? What could be done to incorporate  the terms in the transport documents (B/L) that the merchandise is intended for final destination (Here KKK City of Country C) .. ?

Appreciate the forum members quick answer.

Transport perspective

There are two angles here; the LC angle and the transport industry angle.

For the LC angle; first: What transport document does the LC call for? Would guess a Multimodal Transport Document?

Besides the fact that ABC port should have been in SWIFT field 44E and not 44A – this may well work from an LC perspective.

However from the transport industry angle I understand well that the beneficiaries do not want the B/L to show an inland destination in country C – when it is agree that he is only to pay for the freight up to a port in country B.

He may well find him self liable for the haulage between XZY port and KKK city ….

Nice to see you are back, Adel

However, the transport company could state "freight prepaid until XYZ port".
