certificate of origin

Hi LC expert, i am gstan, i have question to ask, the LC ask for 2 original of COO but the country rule is we only allow to apply 1 original and 1 copy for the particular invoice, will it be a discrepancy if we submit 1 original & 1 copy to the bank, if yes, please advice if we have other idea how to avoid the discrepancy

Amendment

Dear gstan

If peter's solution does not work for you , you can ask the applicant to make an amendment on the LC for presentation 1 original COO instead of 2 original.

Regards

Please give us the exact L/C wording for this document

Maybe you can present two different types of certificate of origin, for example one C/O and one C/O textile products or two originals issued by two different entities?

Usually the stipulation for C/Os is "issued by a competent authority". However, this only means "not issued by the beneficiary" but would not exclude a sister or mother company!

Nevertheless, the applicants somehow has to get official C/Os too (maybe as additional docs to be released to the applicant together wirth the other docs).

-Each long journey starts with a small step-

CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN (2ND & 3RD ORIGINAL)

As the continuation of  Mr. Peter ,if the CO required from  the government authority, you can ask 2nd and 3rd originals of CO Like the Bill of lading.

coo

I agree with Peter, If LC is silent on the issuer of COO, then you issue as many as COO on bene letter head.

Certificate of Origin

If the L/C does not state who should issue the COO (i.e. Chamber of Commerce) then you can issue this document on the beneficiaries own letterhead and issue as many originals as the L/C requires.

HI GSTAN

LC CALL FOR 2 ORIGINAL CO ,PRESENT 1 ORIGINAL AND 1 COPY ,THIS IS A DISC.

YOU CAN ASK THE PARTY OF ISSUING CO TO ISSUE 2 SET CO.(THE SAME,BUT WILL PAY MORE MONEY)

SO YOU CAN PRESENT 2 ORIGINALS TO THE ISSUING BANK.
