Dear Sir,
My query is pertaining to art30 of UCP600.
Suppose
the credit shows:
Credit amount = USD10,000
Goods quantity = 10 MT(plus/minus10 pct)
size qty unit price (USD) Amount(USD)
x 5MT 1,000 5,000
y 5MT 1,000 5,000
Total 10MT 10,000
and Invoice presented as follows:
size qty unit price (USD) Amount(USD)
x 4MT 1,000 4,000
y 5MT 1,000 5,000
Total 9MT 9,000
Partial shipment allowed in the LC
In the above example though the total tolerance is within the stipulation of 10 pct, material shown against size x is showing a tolerance of more than 10 pct. Will this be a discrepancy
Regards
P.R.AJAYAKUMAR
As partial shipments are allowed - no discrepancy
Otherwise, please note that any of the quantities has to stay in the range of 90 - 110 percent of the individual position as there was a breakdown of the composition of the goods to be delivered.
In this example you couldn't deliver 8 tons of size x and 2 tons of size y. That would be a discrepancy!
-Each long journey starts with a small step-

NOT A DISCREPANCY
THE TOLERANCE 10% MUST SUIT THE GOODS FOR SIZE X AND SIZE Y. IE.
SIZE X 45000-55000
SIZE Y 45000-50000
BUT THE LC ALLOW 'Partial shipment allowed in the LC'
IN YR CSAE ,THERE IS NO DISCREPANCY.
Dear Mr. Ajayakumar Your
Dear Mr. Ajayakumar Your credit allows to ship 10% +/- in Qty and you have effected is less than 10 pct, ie 9Mt. So, your case is not under the discrepancy.
But you should remember tolerance allowance provided only in qty and not in amt. so, you cant claim the full amount if you are shipping more than 10 mt.
