Acceptable? Or more comments, please

Dear all

L/C states "Forwarder B/L acceptable"

If a B/L presented without identifying signer as a aforwarder. i.e. no wording "as forwarder" is indicated beside the name of the signer.  Is that  B/L acceptable?

Please be considered  the issuer/ signer's name looks like  :  XYZ Forwarding Co.Ltd ;or ABC Logistic Ltd.,or  DHL Global Forwarding Ltd  ; or  Kuehne and Negel Ltd., etc

Thanks

Acceptable

When forwarders B/L is acceptable. then there is no need for name of the forwarders to be identified.

In your earlier query you have confused me, but here in this case it is acceptable.

If LC specifically asked forwarders B/L should be signed and issued by XYZ, then the name of the forwardes must appear on the forwarders B/L.

Thanks.

Thanks Sammujeeb, but...

But if L/C specifically asked for B/L (not forwarder B/L) issued by XYZ Logistic Ltd. Now, presented B/L is issued and signed by XYZ Logistic Ltd. but without further indicating a named carrier or signing capacity. Is this B/L acceptable? (provided  that L/C did not mention “forwarder B/L acceptable” in above situation)

Thanks so much if you would answer me again.

Dear Guoking, Whenever LC

Dear Guoking,

Whenever LC called for transport document, then it should be complied with art 19 to 25....

Art 20 states a B/L however named, must appear to : indicate the name of the carrier and signed by, the carrier or a named agent for or on behalf of the carrier or the master or a named agent for or on behalf of the master.

In yr case LC asked B/L should be issued by XYZ... and it is issued by XYZ... in order to comply with UCP article 20 XYZ can identify itself as carrier.. eg XYZ as carrier. then there will be no harm, otherwise the banks can pick the disp as carrier and capacity of party signing on bl not identified.
